We have had Belgian Draft Horses since 1984 and do a good share of our field work
with them. They have been a wonderful addition to our farm. There is nothing more relaxing then sitting behind a team of good
horses and letting the rush of the world spin on by.
Bob and Barney we aquired this spring. They are 4&5 years old. Dragging
the hay field early this spring.
The mares on the cultipaker shaking out the lumps before the field is seeded
to small grain.
Dolly and Vicky, our mares sharing their part of the work. These mares are both
in their middle teens. What a gentle team they are.
Banner and Blaze our first team. Blaze is gone now and Banner is enjoying retirement
here at the age of 26. Coming in from a day of seeding the grain.
Bob and Barney dragging their pasture with a tire drag that we find does a better
job on pastures then the drag most of us are used to seeing.
Tot all saddled up and ready to go. He likes to sleep on Dolly's back. Sometimes
we get more help then we need...
The boys raking hay this summer. I guess they figure they may want some of
that to eat this winter so they better get the work done!
The mares taking a break from mowing hay.
